We must collect the information fairly, that is, we must explain how we will use it and tell you if we want to pass the information on to anyone else.

All pledges are verified by means of a single email.

If you pledge your support to the campaign, filling out the petition form will trigger the sending of an email.
That email will carry 2 links;

and
b) Cancellation of support

Every pledge MUST confirm that pledge by clicking the link contained in the confirmation email. Pledges which are not confirmed within 7 calendar days are automatically removed from our database.
Should your email address be used by a third party to submit the pledge/petition form, you will receive the email which will contain a link enabling you to immediately remove your address & details from our database.
If you retain this email, the opt-out link may be used at any time in the future.

The only data we collect from you is voluntary and consists of Your Name, email address, your profession and your place of residence (town etc).

Once collected, the petition will be presented to Government in an attempt to secure better facilities for all cyclists.

Your data will not be presented to any other organisation or individual, and will, at no point, be made available for general download from this, or any other website.

Your information will be disclosed where we are obliged or permitted by law.

4. Visitor Information

During the course of any visit to StopAtRed.org, the pages you see, along with a short text file called a 'cookie', are downloaded to your computer.

Many websites do this, because cookies enable website publishers to do useful things like find out whether the computer (and probably its user) has visited the website before. This is done on a repeat visit by checking to see, and finding, the cookie left there on the last visit.

5. What is a cookie?

A cookie is a small amount of data, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier that is sent to your browser from a website's computer and stored on your computer's hard drive. Each website can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.

Many sites do this whenever a user visits their website in order to track online traffic flows. This site does not.

Cookies record information about your online preferences. Users have the opportunity to set their computers to accept all cookies, to notify them when a cookie is issued, or not to receive cookies at any time.
The last of these, of course, means that certain personalised services and member only content cannot then be provided to that user user and accordingly you may not be able to take full advantage of all of StopAtRed.org features.

If you have set your computer to reject cookies you can still browse StopAtRed.org anonymously until such time as you wish to pledgeyour support via our online petition. For further information on cookies please visit http://www.aboutcookies.org .

5b. Types of cookie

There are essentially two types of cookie. "Session" cookies and "persistent" cookies.

Session cookies carry essential data from page to page during a unique visit to a site.
When you close your browser or if you are inactive on the site for a period of more than 30 minutes, your computer will automatically delete any session cookies placed on your computer.
This site uses session cookies to help prevent remote spam injection attacks against our online petition form.

Persistent cookies carry information between visits to a site. Some sites use persistent cookies to track your behaviour within a site, or they allow 3rd parties to place cookies on your machine when adverts are viewed.
You may be told that this enables the advertising delivery agencies to better tailor the adverts they deliver to your areas of interest.
This site DOES NOT use persistent cookies.

6. Users 16 and under

If you are aged 16 or under, please get your parent/guardian's permission beforehand whenever you provide personal information to StopAtRed.org's website. Users without this consent are not allowed to provide us with personal information.

7. Cookies

This site uses a sequence of "session cookies" to carry information about your visit whilst you are within the site. These cookies are automatically deleted from your PC when you either close your browser OR 30 minutes after you leave our site. Session cookies pose no threat to your security or privacy.
We regularly monitor this website and will update this list of cookies when necessary.

8.Third Party Content

Whilst StopAtRed.org editors have personally reviewed the information provided by these third party web pages, StopAtRed.org is in no way responsible for that content, nor is StopAtRed.org responsible for the privacy practises of any such web page or web site. You are advised to read the privacy policies of those sites/pages to determine whether to proceed.
